Sevilla Marathon 2013
We all have an appointment at the Seville Marathon. In the historic center of the capital of Andalusia the XXIX International Marathon is held in Seville, organized by the Municipal Institute of Sports City of Seville, on Sunday February 24, 2013.

Tie your shoelaces and gather all your strength to participate in one of the most rapid routes of Europe, in the unique atmosphere of the city of Seville. You can beat your own personal record and enjoy the new course designed to run you through the most emblematic buildings of the city, such as the Plaza of Spain, the Arsenal or the Giralda, turning every meter of this race into a sensational view of the city.
This edition will feature the top three marathoners in Spain, these are: Abel Antón, world champion in 1999 and 1997, Martin Fiz, world champion in 1995 and Chema Martínez.
With its 42,195 meters of track, it crosses the most important corners of the historic center of the city, to merge the idea of sport tourism and to provide the highlights of this city to those participating.
Seville City Council presented the new circuit with the delegate of the Culture, Education, Youth and Sports, EstrellaMaria del Mar Sanchez, who said that runners may see for the first time all the monuments and buildings of this magical and representative city, including the Archive of the Indies or the largest Gothic cathedral in the world, making this event an international benchmark.
The views will continue to be appreciated at the Olympic Stadium on the legendary tartan. The starting line, to ensure a perfect flow of more than six thousand runners expected, will be located outside the Estadio de la Cartuja.
The first few meters of this race will cross Triana and Los Remedios. Before the sixth kilometer they will run pass Paseo Christopher Columbus, then Torre del Oro and Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza. Halfway they will be by the sports facilities of St. Paul, following the Great Plaza and the Estadio Ramon Sanchez, running into the famous Benito Villamarin stadium. The hardest part will be from Maria Luisa Park and the Plaza of Spain. In the Alameda de Hercules, participants will face again the Island of La Cartuja, cross the Parque del Alamillo and reach the finishing line at the Cartuja stadium.
A pleasant climate awaits us in the month of February at the Andalusian capital. Many spectators, athletes, runners and visitors will host this event, for which Sevilla certainly has all the conditions to receive and live a unique event in this beautiful city.
